To resolve Ukraine crisis, US and NATO should stop arming kyiv: Russia

As Moscow steps up its attack in Ukraine’s Donbass region, Russia’s foreign minister has urged the US and NATO to stop arming kyiv if they are “really interested in resolving the Ukrainian crisis”.
It has been more than two months since Putin launched an invasion in the neighboring country, but the war seems far from over.
Speaking to China’s official Xinhua news agency, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said that “the special military operation…is going strictly according to plan.”

Warning the West, Lavrov said: “If the United States and NATO are really interested in solving the Ukrainian crisis, then first of all they should wake up and stop supplying the kyiv regime with arms and ammunition.”
Lavrov told Xinhua that Russia knows how to defend its economic interests and therefore plans to move away from the U.S. dollar and rely less on imports, while strengthening its technological independence.
Lavrov also said lifting sanctions on Russia was part of the peace talks between Moscow and Ukraine, which are “difficult” but continue daily.
Last month, Russian President Vladimir Putin said Russia would start forcing “hostile countries” – including all European Union states – to pay for their natural gas supplies in roubles.
Russia launched its military offensive against Ukraine on February 24. Western nations, including the United States, have imposed significant economic and other sanctions on Russia following the aggression.
