Oleksiy Vadatursky has already been awarded the prestigious “Hero of Ukraine” award
Ukraine says Moscow’s “strongest” bombardment to date on the southern city of Mykolaiv killed a grain tycoon and his wife.
“Mykolaiv suffered massive shelling today. Probably the strongest so far,” city mayor Oleksandr Senkevych wrote on Telegram.
Authorities say Ukraine’s top agricultural tycoon Oleksiy Vadatursky, 74, and his wife Raisa were killed when a missile hit their home.
Vadatursky, who was ranked the 24th richest man in Ukraine with a fortune of $430 million by Forbes, owned leading grain exporter Nibulon and was previously honored with the prestigious “Hero of Ukraine” award.
